EARTH FRIENDLY
GREEN, ECO FRIENDLY, ORGANIC, NATURAL, SUSTAINABLE. There are a lot of names and a lot of definitions out there, but whatever your definition is or goal you are trying to accomplish we are here to help.

 Being EARTH FRIENDLY can be simple things such as adjusting sprinklers and not over watering . Even the simple act of following directions and not over applying traditional garden products and using them in a responsible way can go a long way in making the world a better and safer place. If you want to take that extra step to be more EARTH FRIENDLY the staff here at Abner's Garden Center are here to help. Abner's is a homegrown family-owned business. In that vein, the majority of what we purchase is also from local businesses that grow their own products. When you shop at Abner's you really are shopping with a neighbor. We've always done business this way and lo and behold it's considered a Green practice. Be Green. Buy local! Another Earth Friendly service Abner's is going to offer is nursery plastic recycling. Return your empty plastic pots, trays and 6-pack containers. We will send them to be recycled -- keeping them out of the landfill.
 


The Tumbleweed Composter. We've found this to be an excellent composter that is sturdy and easy to use. Start putting some of the things you throw away to good use in your garden. Fox Farm has become a favorite of ours and our customers for their line of natual and organic products. We  experimented with some of these products on tomato plants last year and had terrific results. Try 'em you'll like 'em.

 

 

 

 

 

 

These are not the only EARTH FRIENDLY products we carry here at Abner's. We have products from Scotts, Bradfield Organics, Bonide, Safer, Fertilome Peat Moss and more. Pharm Solutions. This is a product we've carried in the past with great success. Now, after taking care of registration details they're back. Not only are they effective but they smell great.

 

 

We've brought in a new line of biodegradable pots from Rosso. These are great looking pots in some beautiful colors. These pots are made from bamboo and vegetable based dyes. These pots should last at least three years in normal use. Once they're in a Tumbleweed Composter, they'll breakdown faster. 

 

 

Grow your own fruits and vegetables. This is a great way to be earth friendly. Not only is it fun, but it is a great way to get everyone to eat more vegetables.
